Windows 11 is just rolled out for Windows Insiders Users. I am one of them and I have to say I haven’t been excited by the new version of Microsoft Windows in a long time. I think this means something for Microsoft.

Even though I like the new UI with snappy animations, rounded corners, the transparent background, and all, I still feel the need for more personalize styles in my Windows 11. I want to see more information at a glance on my screen such as what is the weather like in my area, the date and time, and how my CPU and RAM are holding up.

Here comes the Rainmeter! The most famous application for desktop customizations. There are hundreds of thousands widget that you can choose to customize your desktop as your wish.

My Goals:

  1. Add date and time to my desktop so I don’t have to look at the corner of the screen and I can see it from a distance.
  2. Add a weather widget that I can see at a glance on my screen before I have to go out.
  3. Add some system monitoring widgets such as RAM, CPU, and Network.

And the followings are the widget that I use.

  1. Rainmeter — Simple Media 1.1
  2. MiniWeather Rainmeter Skin
  3. Fountain of Colors, desktop music visualizer
  4. Rainmeter — Encoded v1.2.3

Results:

This is the name of the widget and its placement on the desktop!

Hopefully, this post inspires you to make your desktop truly yours and motivates you to work more productive!
