Our Samsung Galaxy S24 vs. S23 video is out

Peter, 09 May 2024

You can still buy a new Galaxy S23 from Samsung and it will cost you less than a Galaxy S24 – in the US, the 2023 model is $700, while its replacement is $800 (for 128GB units, add $60 if you want a 256GB one). Is the new model worth it or is it okay to save a few bucks and get the old one?

That is what our comparison video tries to answer. The two phones are quite similar, so the devil is in the details. In this head to head comparison, Will covers the differences in display, camera, performance and battery.

That’s not all, of course, Samsung is promising 7 years of support for the Galaxy S24. Meanwhile, the S23 celebrated its first birthday recently, which means it only has 3 OS updates and 4 years of patches left. That said, both phones run One UI 6.1 with Galaxy AI right now.

And what if you already have a Galaxy S23? Well, you could keep it, but Samsung US has a promo and you can trade-in the S23 for $500 credit when buying an S24. This drops the price of the unlocked 128GB model to $300 and the 256GB one to $360. In the UK, an old S23 is worth up to £330 in trade-in credit, while in Germany it’s €430 (+€20 for 256GB).
