Angelina Jolie has revealed that she feels lucky to be alive after "darker times" spent during her youth.

The actress spoke out during a 60 Minutes interview, due to air this Sunday, in which she revealed that there were moments when she was younger that she thought could have killed her.

"I went through heavier, darker times and I survived them," she told presenter Bob Simon. "I didn't die young. So I am very lucky. There are other artists and people that didn't survive certain things. "People can imagine that I did the most dangerous, and I did the worst... For many reasons, I shouldn't be here…You just... Too many times where you came close to too many dangerous things, too many chances taken too, too far."

However, Jolie stopped short of revealing exactly what those "dangerous" antics were. She also insisted that she's "still a bad girl", but prefers to use her sense of adventure in healthier ways these days. "I still have that side of me... It's just in its place now... It belongs to [partner Brad Pitt] - or our adventures," she explained.
