Arizona's Laura Zuniga and an Australian trio defy age, Flexing their way to Bodybuilding Fame as GrandmothersSource: Instagram/lesleymaxwell.fitness

She may be a grandmother, but Laura Zuniga is flexing her way to the top of the bodybuilding world. Proving that age is just a number, this Arizona mother and grandmother is not only crushing workouts daily but also dominating on the global bodybuilding stage. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Zuniga's mantra, "See it, believe it, achieve it," has pushed her to start professionally competing soon after she began bodybuilding in 2012. Showcasing arms that could rival a star football player's legs, Zuniga admitted, "Now it’s my life, it is an addiction, and I love it."

Not to be outdone, on the other side of the world, a trio of Australian women are fast to become an Instagram sensation, as grandmother, mother, and daughter showcase their fitness and age-defying looks. Lesley Maxwell, a bodybuilder herself, has the social media world doing a double-take over her family's shared passion for the gym and a wardrobe that defies generational boundaries. "They're surprised to know I have grandchildren, because I suppose it's a bit out of character to think of a grandmother doing deadlifts and pull-ups at the gym," Maxwell said, according to an interview with MARCA. Maxwell recommends weight training to "women of all ages,".

As Zuniga prepares to bring her A-game to competitions in July, August, and September with hopes to make The Olympia in the fall, she's a testament to the idea that hard work and dedication pay off at any age. "I really enjoy it, it’s a wonderful sport, it keeps me driven and motivated and gives me something to shoot for," as stated by the FOX 10 Phoenix. While she pumps iron in Scottsdale, her full competition schedule ahead speaks to unyielding strength, motivation, and perhaps, a touch of that addictive rush from surpassing her own limits.

Meanwhile, the Maxwell women are delivering a triple threat of fitness across three generations, with Lesley often sharing the spotlight with her daughter Vanessa Christofi and granddaughter Tia Christofi. Lesley and Vanessa keep the exact numbers of their ages under wraps, but it’s clear that when it comes to physical strength and family bonds, they are fully transparent. People can hardly seem to believe that these women are related, much less spanning across generations. "People are always surprised to learn that we are actually three generations of a totally different family," Maxwell revealed in her conversation with MARCA
