Yashahime season 2 returns with episode 14 as the start of the second cour. Sesshomaru lends Morhoa his hand as she fights Kirinmaru. Towa and Setsuna also came to help them. Unfortunately, Kirinmaru is so strong that Sesshomaru, the strongest demon in the East, is having a hard time dealing with him.

Sesshomaru took a direct hit from Kirinmaru’s strongest attack, incapacitating him. Luckily, before he fell down, he put Moroha, Setsuna, and Towa inside the black pearl. The black pearl itself is the passage to the boundary of life and death. It means that inside it is the tomb of Inuyasha and Sesshomaru’s father, Toga.
Honestly, I felt very hyped during this scene because it featured Sesshomaru’s theme song, which I haven’t heard since the ending of the InuYasha series. It is also my favorite theme of the series.
When I watched the newest trailer of the anime, I already expected that Moroha and the others would be able to go inside the black pearl since there are some scenes that show it happening. However, I didn’t expect that it will be on episode 14 of Yashahime season 2, which is also the start of the show’s second cour.
Appearance of Inuyasha and Kagome
It was revealed in the first season of the anime that Sesshomaru sealed Inuyasha and Kagome inside the black pearl when Moroha was still an infant. Moroha is now 15 years old, which means that Inuyasha and Kagome were sealed for 15 years already. Since Moroha already met Sota in the modern era, she saw many pictures of Kagome and Inuyasha, so she knows exactly what they look like.
Of course, Moroha meeting Inuyasha and Kagome was inevitable once she was inside the black pearl. Well, it’s also good to see that Kagome’s personality didn’t change after 15 years. The moment I saw how she reacted to seeing Moroha – making a funny face, pinching her daughter’s cheeks, and asking her multiple times if she really is Moroha, I felt that she is still the Kagome I used I remembered from the InuYasha series. This scene really hit hard, since Inuyasha and Kagome are the protagonists in Yashahime’s prequel series. Knowing their personality, they wouldn’t leave Moroha, and Kagome would surely raise her daughter. However, the peace in the feudal era was disturbed again because of the Sesshomaru’s decisions, which lead to the situation they are in right now. As a result, Kagome and Inuyasha were forced to live inside the black pearl and Moroha was raised by the wolf demon tribe.
Old Faces
The anime ended with Inuyasha saying Moroha’s name. It seems that some old faces from the InuYasha series will be having more screen time in the future episodes. Rin just got cured and finally came out of the Tree of Ages after being imprisoned for 15 years and Moroha met Inuyasha and Kagome. After this episode’s credits, Shippo also appeared in the next episode’s preview. It is his first appearance in the Yashahime series.
Miroku, Sango, and Kaede also appeared in the first season of the series, and it was revealed that they are doing well. The only character who isn’t appearing yet is Koga, the leader of the wolf demon tribe. Since Yashahime is the sequel to InuYasha, I’m really looking forward to seeing what happened to the lives of the old generation. As for now, let’s enjoy Inuyasha and Kagome’s screentime. I’m expecting that the next episode will contain more scenes including them since its title is”Moroha and Family, Together Again“. It will air on January 15, 2022, and you can watch it on Funimation.
