This is a cel from Inuyasha episode 40 "The Deadly Trap of Kagura The Wind Sorceress". This is from the scene where Miroku and Sango are fighting against one of Naraku's puppets while Inuyasha and Kagome are taking care of Kagura elsewhere. This cel appears right after Miroku stabs the puppet with his staff and Sango jumps up to give the final blow with her sword.
When I saw this cel go up for sale I fell in love with it! I've been wanting a great action shot of Sango and this one definitely fits the bill. Any Inuyasha fan knows that Hiraikotsu is her preferred weapon of choice, so you rarely get to see her use anything else in battle. I'm really happy I was able to get a cel of her using her sword because I always felt that Sango had more "fighting" potential in the anime (especially with her sword, poisons, hidden wrist blades, and slayer know-how), but sadly she was never really given the chance to shine as a demon exterminator. Plus Inuyasha was the sword guy of the group, so we never really got to see Sango have an epic sword fight with anyone either. Anyways, I'm very glad that I was able to get a cel from one of the rare moments in the anime when she did unsheathe it. ^_^ Sango is such a cool character, and I'd definitely love to get more cels of her using her more obscure weaponry.
Lastly I just wanted to say that I also like the fact that she's slashing away at a Naraku puppet in this shot. (Aren't they always? Haha...)
